Question About Dark Roast Coffee

Yesterday, the lady tried to sell me Dark Roast at Second Cup. When I buy Starbucks Iced Coffee at Wal-Mart or Publix, sometimes Dark Roast is only available, and usually, it's unsweetened. As I have been cutting back on sugar intake, do we have any recommendations besides Agave or Simple Sugar for making Dark Roast coffee drinks taste not so bitter?

Winding Down at Second Cup - Naples

A favorite drink:

Iced Coffee
at

Second Cup
9106 Strada Place
                                   Naples, FL

Apparently, there is also one on Gulf Shore Drive in Naples.

(Ask the Barista to blend the Cuzco flavor, but you must insist they don't do the Dark Roast that's already made. The manager might try to talk you into the basic Dark Roast, but I handled that!)

The Second Cup menu describes this drink as "Medium, Organic, Nutty Notes!"

I spent Black Friday at the Mercato in Naples writing for my blogging clients and this amazing Coffee Blog serving the 239 area code. \

People will also love Second Cup's amazing desserts and pastries, frozen yogurt concoctions, sandwiches, and salads. Their menu has a wide selection of teas as well and coffee/espresso drinks (both hot and cold)! This is a Canada-based coffee chain.
People also come to Mercado for shopping and dining experiences like Blue Martini, McCormicks Seafood, and Saks Fifth Avenue. There is the pricey but posh and comfy Silver Spot Cinemas and, for Black Friday, there was even live entertainment out on the sidewalk. It's worth a stop in for this coffee if you are passing through or if you live in Naples!

I love Second Cup and have had this same drink many times!

Stop into the Rebel Coffee Roastery and Tea Lounge at:

1520 Broadway
Fort Myers, FL 33901

A trendily decorated lounge has a friendly staff who gave me a free drink when I told them about my blog. They also have Open Mike night every Friday from 6 to 9 pm, but they stayed open later last night for Downtown's monthly Music Walk.

I can recommend the Cafe Cubano con Leche. This little haunt is a few doors down from Starbucks and adjacent to the Indigo Hotel and other eateries. If you work for any county or city government office in the area or at the Federal Courthouse, it's locale is ideal. Prices are reasonable, and some food items are on the menu!

Meet the Blogger!

I have to admit that this blog came out of nowhere. One minute, I was sitting at Starbucks and catching up with Jason. Next thing I knew, I spent six hours making a coffee blog.

The Mission:

Write about my coffee/cafe experiences all around southwest Florida.

The Rationale:

I spend so much time on evenings, weekends, and vacations writing anyway. Might as well make some pocket money while I am driving everywhere.

Favorite Question:

Why do you drive to Naples most weekends?

It started out because I wanted to remember my deceased brother, Kevin (love that kid), and it stuck as a habit that I look forward to as much as church on Sundays. Having grown up there, it keeps me close to my roots.

I will answer this question tomorrow: I will compare and contrast my favorite coffee shop (TBA) and the one I will try brunch at tomorrow. If you follow this blog, you might be able to guess which ones they are!

News Flash:  I also have to build a site for Asheville, which is my second home.

I will be there in just 11 days!

See you then!

Where to Go for Good Coffee in Cape Coral - The French Press Cafe

Stopped in for some blogging, etc. at Cape Harbour's French Press.

5789 Cape Harbour Dr #101,

Cape Coral, FL 33914

The pics speak for themselves. I recommend the Snickerdoodle Latte because it wasn't sweet. I'll opt for a new drink every place I go.

Coffee Trends Are Looking Good!

Gourmet coffee trends are up. According to the National Coffee Association's 2017 Trends survey, there was an increase among 40- to 59-year-olds of 39 percent. We are talking about when you single out gourmet coffee drinks. I am almost forty, but my budget doesn't support this habit.

I want to say that I drink my coffee black, and I will.  Mostly. But I was one of the people in the second group in Brian's post from 4 years ago:
